Titchfield Abbey

A jaunt to Titchfield Abbey with a detour to the beautiful St Peters Church in Titchfield which houses the tomb of Henry Wriotherley Earl of Southampton, Shakespeare's patron. I certainly wasn't expecting such an ornate and beautiful tomb, in an other wise very unassuming Church. Worth a look if your a history fan!!

Blossom on the trees in Jan?! Spring must be on its way.

snow.......

I found this poem and thought it went well with the snowy theme.

In a soundless space;
with footsteps quiet and slow,
At a tranquil pace,
Under veils of white lace.

I shall go shod in silk,
And you in wool,
More beautiful
Then the breast of a gull.

We shall walk through the still town
In a windless peace;
We shall step upon white down,
Upon silver fleece,
Upon softer then these.

We shall walk in velvet shoes:
Wherever we go
Silence will fall like dews
On white silence below.
We shall walk in the snow.

Easy like sunday morning....

A post roast winter walk through the beautiful rambling abbey ruins, and then a stroll along the beach while the sunsets. Romantic?! Oh yes!

Although the weekend wasn't a productive one, it was perfect.

Now to see if Hampshire gets hit with any snow. Fingers crossed....
